Summer Nights

Yes, I am well aware that it is still very early on in the Spring, but have you stepped outside within the past few days? It is summer weather right now in Southern California. The heat could be much worse, but lets face it, the warmth we (I) have been hoping for is here and in full force.

The upside to all of this? The feeling of a summer night. I love being able to hear the crickets from outside in the still, warm, air. Not the kind of Vegas heat with a slight breeze we feel during the day but a good temperature drop cooler. Not cold, not hot, but right there in the happy medium. It puts me in such a peaceful mood and makes me want to go sit on my porch with my iPod. It also takes me back to all my fond memories of summer nights after graduation. Great times. Unfortunately it is not summer yet and I have school in the morning so that wont be happening tonight. So goodnight World, sleep well. ♥

PS... looking for any new music? My recommendation would be Eye Alaska's new song called Walk Like A Gentleman. You can hear it on their myspace for now until it is released on iTunes.

The Best Day

Today went so well that I feel completely inspired to write about it.
As you may or may not know (sorry if you didn't) I have been accepted to Biola University. After long talks with myself and many others about the financial commitment and being ready to move out, I felt God telling me that it is where I belonged and I accepted. I have had many questions and some slight concerns so I figured the best thing to do is pick and day and make a visit to the school and talk with someone... today was that day. I am so glad I made this trip and I'm feeling much more prepared and excited. The day started with no traffic on the way there, Friday morning on the I5 with no traffic, how great is that?! When I got there the first thing I did was meet with my counselor. He was great and I couldn't believe how much time I spent talking with him. He made me feel much more sure of myself although my load is going to be quite hefty EVERY semester. Most importantly he was encouraging and gave me a well needed sense of direction. I couldn't ask for a better counselor and I look forward to working with him more during my time there.
Afterwards we took a tour of the school and I must say that it is much bigger than I ever realized. I saw everything from the classrooms to the dorms to the field. It is such a beautiful school and I cant wait to be a part of that environment. Once the tour was over, my dad, Ari, and I went and had lunch in the caf. I will definitely enjoy that part of Biola! Seriously, so delish! All in all, a great visit. One more thing that I feel important to note... the guys. The Christian boys there are much different then the ones I see everyday. They look at you as a person, not an object whose clothes they want to rip off. Its a sort of maturity and respect that you dont see often.
Next semester is going to be a great experience and I cant wait to see what God has in store for me!

"I have an excellent father, his strength is making me stronger".
I am thankful to know my heavenly father but I am also so thankful for the earthly one He has given me. I love my dad and I appreciate everything he done for me, without him this all wouldnt be possible ♥
